UAE, Egypt sign agreement to develop government work

The UAE and Egypt on Tuesday signed a cooperation agreement in the areas of government development. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, witnessed the signing of the agreement, which took place at the World Government Summit in Dubai. Mohammed Al Garqawi, Minister of Cabinet affairs and future affairs in the UAE and president of the World Summit of Governments, said the UAE government is keen to strengthen cooperation and partnership and improve the distinguished relations that unite the UAE and Egypt in various fields. "This cooperation aims to find innovative solutions to enhance government work and develop best practices in the areas of outstanding performance, innovation and other areas," he said after signing the memorandum of agreement with Egypt's Minister of Planning, Follow-up and Administrative Reform, Hala Al-Saeed. The memorandum of cooperation aims to strengthen cooperation between the two countries, and to share common experiences and knowledge in the areas of improving governance, improving performance, excellence and government services. The convention provides for the formation of a joint committee to oversee the development of cooperation in the exchange of experiences and knowledge transfer in areas of capacity enhancement in the process of improving governance. It also provides for cooperation in enhancing government skills, developing performance, encouraging innovation, raising the standard, achieving excellence, qualifying leaders and building government capacity.
